Executive Summary
A safety and risk inspection organization needed to turn a complex portfolio of field inspection checklists into reliable, Salesforce-backed mobile workflows with polished on-device PDF reports. The work covered multiple inspection types, including urban safety, CPTED, schools, and workplace violence prevention, each requiring scored questions, photo evidence, corrective-action notes, recommendations, and customer-ready reporting.
H1AI helped modernize and standardize the inspection experience in Resco Mobile CRM. The engagement moved beyond simple form configuration: it required questionnaire engineering, report XML development, offline mobile behavior, image handling, conditional styling, automatic report generation, and repeatable patch tooling. The result was a consistent mobile inspection/reporting pattern across four production inspection packages, with a deferred construction checklist left intentionally out of scope until its picklist-reporting policy was defined.
Customer Profile
The customer operates a field inspection workflow for safety, security, and facility-risk assessments. Inspectors capture structured observations on mobile devices, document failed conditions with photos and comments, mark items corrected immediately when applicable, and generate reports suitable for stakeholders who need clear findings and practical recommendations.
Because the inspection portfolio spans different assessment types, the mobile solution needed to support both shared patterns and category-specific content. Each checklist had to be usable by field staff while still producing a professional PDF output aligned with a detailed safety inspection report format.
Business Challenge
The customer’s inspection requirements were too complex for a generic checklist. Questions needed Yes/No/N/A scoring, red conditional styling for negative findings, per-question photo capture, per-question comments, corrected-immediately indicators, category scoring, recommendations, general comments, and a consistent report layout.
The complexity multiplied across the portfolio. Urban Safety served as the working baseline, while CPTED, Schools, and Workplace Violence Prevention needed to be brought to the same layout and behavior. Earlier draft reports had a simpler one-row-per-question format that did not match the field-tested Urban Safety pattern. Photos also required careful Salesforce ContentVersion handling so each report image resolved to the correct per-question upload rather than a generic image field.
Solution Delivered
H1AI created a standardized Resco inspection reporting framework across the production inspection set. The solution included a five-row-per-question report block: answer, question text, conditional image, corrected-immediately marker, comments label, and comments value, with recommendation text displayed when a question fails. The same pattern was rolled out across 84 inspection groups and more than 1,100 report question blocks.
H1AI also built reusable Python tooling to generate reports from questionnaire files, add scoring capture, inject recommendation text, wire auto-run mobile report behavior, and transform draft layouts into the production Urban Safety pattern. These scripts made the work repeatable and auditable instead of relying on fragile manual edits in the report designer.
Technology Stack
The solution used Salesforce, Resco Mobile CRM, Resco Questionnaire Designer, Resco Mobile Report Designer XML, Salesforce ContentVersion photo handling, Resco questionnaire workflow rules, mobile PDF generation, offline-capable field inspection workflows, and Python-based patch/validation utilities.
Results & Benefits
Four inspection/report packages were brought into production alignment: Urban Safety, CPTED, Schools, and Workplace Violence Prevention. Across those packages, H1AI standardized 84 inspection groups, more than 1,100 question blocks, more than 1,100 recommendation cells, and more than 1,100 conditional answer variables.
Inspectors gained a more consistent field experience, while stakeholders received clearer reports with inline evidence, comments, corrective-action context, scoring, and recommendations. The customer also gained a safer engineering process: changes could be patched, validated, backed up, imported, and device-tested with far less manual report-authoring risk.
H1AI Perspective
This case demonstrates H1AI’s strength in practical field-process modernization. The value was not merely creating mobile forms; it was designing a reliable inspection-reporting system across Salesforce data, Resco mobile behavior, PDF rendering, photos, conditional logic, and governance. H1AI helped the customer turn a complex inspection portfolio into a repeatable mobile reporting platform that can continue to evolve safely.
